25 January 2018 –

3rd Meeting of the Fuels Joint Research Group.

The Fuels Joint Research Group (FJRG) has announced its 3rd conference for September 20 and 21, 2018 in Braunschweig. The background to the conference is that the combustion engine must become more environmentally and climate-friendly if it is to compete with electric mobility. New alternative fuels with high greenhouse gas savings potential are regarded as one way of reducing emissions. In addition, they must avoid competing uses of their raw materials with food production and for arable land, and ideally be produced with regenerative surplus electricity.

Since the operational reliability and service life of application technologies must also be ensured with new fuels, the conference will focus on technical aspects of possible interactions of future fuels with other alternative fuels as well as the engine and engine oil and, not least, exhaust aftertreatment. The following topics will be discussed

  • political, economic and technical constraints
  • requirements for fuels and drop-in fuels
  • new fuels
  • missions and quality control

The conference is aimed at technical/scientific experts, company decision-makers, doctoral candidates and students. Young scientists working in fuel research are invited to take part in the planned poster competition.
